Should we, can we, demand to know what our government is doing about it? They are our elected officials, sworn to protect us. Have we become complacent? Can anybody relate to the activism of the 60's? There should be a public outcry from citizens today. I don't know about you, but I see this as a potential threat to our welfare. Bush should have been on the TV this morning addressing the nation. Or is it just me? Don't use the 'they don't want to start a panic' excuse; that would insult my intelligence. What I want from my elected officials, is a rock solid belief that America is prepared to defend us by any means necessary. This tendency to not keep America informed is what panics me. I think every voting citizen would benefit from a more open communication from our government. More on this later.

Yes, but not just americans. The whole world should be concerned. It is not an immediate concern for us, as most of the missiles can't come in contact with us, (with the exception of a small part of Alaska), but it is impartant to pay attention and be concerned. My guess is most Americana's won't care.

Certainly we should ! And we are doing it. We have been closely following the progres of the nuclear activities of North Korea and advising it to desist or else. But we are not an immature country like Israel who just because one of their young man has been abducted by the Palestines have let the whole hell loose. This is the reaction of an immaure people under the veil of disciplinarians who would not tolerate any nonsense. We have perhaps learnt our lesson from Iraq. We found that all those tales of WMD there were tall tales only and now we are finding it difficult to extricate from the mess. WEe similarly through overenthusiasm rushed to Vietnam where even angels would have feared to tread. We have to leave it under ignominy. Some of us even feel that we had no need to participate in the First or even the Second World War and that President Monroe;s policcy of non-intervention was right. However, we know that the world has contracted so much as to become a global village and we cannot be just neutral spectators.Despite our well-deserved threats to North Korea we know that it is not going to become a nuclear power tomorrow and we are already negotiating with our friends for initiating suitable st eps to stop further escalation. We need not be afraid that it will leave us Americans in the lurch.Believe me we are in right and caring hands. Please try to understand that if we were to take precipitate action we may be commiing an indiscretion a la Vietnam,Afghanistan or Iraq. With the next Elections round the corner rest assured government will not merely seem to be doing something but will certainly do something.

Yes I think the world should be concerned about North Korea. Back before Iraq I think most people at least in this country were more concerned with North Korea and saw them as a bigger threat to not only the U.S. but to Japan, China, Russia, South Korea, and other surrounding countries.I think they are probably the biggest threat not only to the countries that surround them but the world at large. It's a very scary situation and I think if something isn't done, it's only going to get worse. I don't know what can be done but somethings gotta happen or Kim Jong Il is going to do something that will affect the entire world. I'm petrified of what he's capable of and I think a lot of world leaders have underestimated him until recently. Now it's just hashing out what needs to be done with him and hopefully we'll find a peaceful way to neutralize him

AHH YEAH!!!!!
First off, this n.korean regime has their own mandate and way at looking at life, in other words they are not playing with a full deck. They can sit back and spend stupid amounts of cash, while kids starve.....of course this is not new to the world, but when they start firing off missles to prove their worthyness, we are talking a new ball game. I do not think the US should worry too much about being hit from the Asian rim, moreso of letting a foreign company take over the ports...( who's bloody idea was that).....if the US get hit, nuclear speaking, it will be an internal thing, or a dirty bomb that made its way thru the ports. GWB has a lot on his plate at the moment, he has made his bed, so to speak, and the rest of the world leaders should be stepping up to the plate. one thing is 4 sure with this, the doomsday clock moved up 10 minutes. I am from north of the border, and am as easily worried bout these wack job in-bred morons who have their finger on red triggers................one thing is for sure, its gonna be interesting.

i'm more concerned about OUR government than any other country I don't live in. The way you and I feel is called DESCENT...bad , bad bad in the eyes of the present Government. What we are told is diddly, only what they want us to hear. For the People by the People? We've lost our voice because americans can't think for themselves or believe in each other. I hung a brand new flag out yesterday, as I do every 4th o' July. I welcome every American to fly a flag outside of every home 365, and think about collectively rebuilding OUR voice. It's time the government hears what we have to say not visa versa!

it really is about SOUTH Korea. wide economic equipment and can want to be invaded without delay through N. Korea. no count number who N. Korea comes to a decision to "first" attack, they are going to be in S. Korea interior hours. keep in mind that the in straightforward words reason China facilitates N. Korea to assert, "seem... end dropping invaluable money on defense force and commence engaged on agriculture... not at the same time as they have a dictator that do not care about his human beings. imagine those huge fat spiders which have a large number of toddlers. in case you step on them, each and every of the toddlers commence operating and spread all round. no one needs to attack N. Korea, and they get aggravated on the u . s . at the same time as N. Korea misbehaves, considering they understand that the u . s . can merely provide them what they pick and issues will cool down.

Yes, we should be concerned with what N Korea is doing, or any nuclear nation for that matter, but I think we should be more concerned with what our elected officials are doing about it, because from what I have seen, it isn't much.

Don't worry. We have alot of paid government officials that are paid to worry, and handle this situation before it even becomes a threat to the US. Don't worry.
