I got my cat from my parents about a year and a half ago. I've tolerated her since, but I'm really getting fed up with her. The meowing, the hair everywhere. I feel bad every time I think of giving her to a stranger, or even worse the pound, but I'm really tired of her. She can't go back to my parents because of allergies, and I don't know anyone else who would take her. What should I do? She's about 4.5 yrs old.

tolerance buddy, tolerance! i'm sure you do some annoying things too and would you like someone to get rid of you because you talked too much and your hair fell out. i hope you don't go bald or the woman in your life might decide to kick you to the curb, oh, what? you don't think she would be that SHALLOW!?
how you can be tired of an animal that will give you unconditional love if you let her is beyond me. she will be there for you when no one else will. she will love you no matter what. why not grown up and start showing some loyalty. get a pet vac($30) that allows you to vaccuum off lose hair from your pet and maybe if you gave this poor little kitty some attention she wouldn't feel the need to meow all the time. everything she is doing is perfectly normal, you are the one acting out of turn. i hope you meet someone in the future who gets tired of you and dumps you so you see how it feels to be abandoned. and the people who have answered your question by saying it is okay are just as bad as you. poor little kitty. maybe you should take her to the aspca so they can find her a good home as you arn't able to handle the responsiblity.
and as for allergies, there are many allergy meds out there and that is just an excuse. you are a real piece of work, YOU'VE TOLERATED HER! YOU SUCK!

Has she been fixed if not that will stop the constant meowing I know i finnaly could not stand it anymore and had mine done as for the fur well constant brushing with a sheading comb could help take her to a vet they can tell you if she is fixed or not and if anything get her some toys and play with her but if you really can't stand the cat take her to a local aspca they will adopt her to a home that can take care of her it isn't fair to the cat if you really don't want her. Good luck

I would bring her to a cat rescue where she will go to a loving forever home.
The shelter will kill her. If you do not want her, give her the chance of finding someone who will.
Is she spayed? Is she groomed regularly? Is she fed at regular times?
This may reduce the meowing and cat hair for you.
She also probably senses you don't want her.

Cats meow and shed. But, I think your cat misses your parents and the meowing and shedding is worse. Try spending a little more one on one time with her by playing with her, talking to her or brushing her. Give her treats twice a day. Also, if you have a blanket or a piece of clothing from your parents, with their smell on it, you should put it where she normally sleeps and she may feel a little more connected with your parents. My vet recommends that when I have to take my cats there overnight.

ur not pet lover, better to give some 1 who really loves animals specially Cats. its so strange just for cats hair u r tired, if u dont like to see hair every where, fasten ur cat with collar and long rope , that he can only be in 1 place ,not all the house....like he can walk in 2mtr long. then u know whr to clean 1nce a day! not all of the house. and open his collar and take him out 1nce or two times in a day, for 1,2 hours.that he wont be depressed.
if u dont like to do it and ur tired find some 1 who loves cats plz.

Go bring her to the North Shore Animal League/shelter whatever.Anyways you probably heard of that animal shelter. It's located in L.I.C.And if you can't go there. They have mobiles that come in certain areas.Just go to google.com and type in North Shore Animal League and then click on a link they give additional info and the address directions and the mobile schedule. And don't worry they will give her to a good home. And plus they won't euthanize it they will keep it with them until it gets adopted. You probably heard of this aanimal shelter it's the largest animal shelter so they never run out of space. So there I suggest you go to North Shore Animal League and please visit their website. And how could you be so cruel letting a poor innocent animal taken to a place she's never been before? And do want any of that for her imagine her she'll be terrified!

If you put an ad in the paper, ask for a small amount of money for the cat, like $20. A person who is looking for an animal to abuse will not be interested in paying for it. also put an ad with a pic on craigslist.org.

The Humane Society is a great place to take an animal. They do all they can to find a good home for all animals. I have volunteered for the Humane Society in my town for years, even bringing home foster animals. She will find a family who will love her despite her hair and her talking... Please consider this.
(I don't mind our cat's hair and LOVE it when he talks to us!!) so someone out there will love this cat and you'll be doing her a great favor.
