I have searched endlessly and can not find the proper driver for this laptop CD/DVD. A link or proper driver to allow this to work would be greatly appreciated. I tried the Toshiba support site and the driver I downloaded Jjust won't work. I need some advise on which is the right one.

Thank you in advance!

If your OS is something other than Windows 2000 or XP you will need a driver. If you have Windows 2000 or XP, it will use a native driver. No installation of a driver should be required under Windows XP or 2000. If it is not working right, you can force Windows to reload the driver by going to Start > My Computer > Control Panel > System and then go to the Hardware tab. Go to Device Manager and click the "+" sign next to DVD/CD drives, right click it and select uninstall. Restart your computer, Windows will reload the drivers when you restart.

If you are using Windows ME or earlier then you will likely need to load a third party driver.
