Purchase a Hot Tools flat iron (about $30), a metal round brush and some straightening balm. After you wash your hair take your blow dryer and "fluff" dry about 90% of the moisture out, then pur your hair up and take small sections at a time and using your round brush straighten each section as best as you can. Then when you have dried your hair fully go back and take small sections again and use your flat iron (also by a thermal spray to spray on each section you flat iron to protect your hair from the heat). A cheap and great line to use is Regis straight talk balm and flat out spray. You can find Regis's in almost any mall.

I have medium length curly hair and I use ceramic straighteners that are from a salon suppliers near my home so they were quite dear. However, my friend had a pair for £9.99, and they worked just as good, if not better. But, do get ceramic straighteners, I wouldn't recommend steam irons. I don't use anything other than a few squidges of serum to flatten the back of my hair (as I'm blessed with a natural bump at the back :( ) and a little hairspray which I spray from an arm's length away from my hair and my hair is polka straight for at least 24 hours after initial straightening.

Try a straightening Iron, like a crimper, but flat. Since using heat though, make sure you use a heat protector on your hair, like sebastian potion 9.

you can go to Sally's beauty supply and get a ceramic straightener (just like a CHI but ALOT less expensive) but they do damage your hair if you use them alot..try using the Biosilk Silk Thearapy to keep your hair soft
