Etiology:

Dilatation of cerebral ventricular system with increased CSF pressure
May be caused by an obstructive, preventing CSF from traveling its normal pathway (fluid that baths your brain and spine)

May be due to choroid plexus papilloma (are benign neoplasms of the choroid plexus, a structure within the ventricular system that produces cerebrospinal fluid )

May be due to: aqueductal stenosis, TORCH syndrome, genetic causes

May be idiopathic (no apparent cause)
