for the person who said that the doctor done a home pregnancy test must be imagining things cause i never wrote that down and as i already said i live in ireland they dont do blood tests unless they think something is seriously wrong..

You should treat yourself as if you are pregnant, {i.e. don't do anything too strenuous or dangerous} while on vacation just to be on the safe side. Then when you get back from vacation go to the doctor or a clinic and get another test done. It could be that you are using the first urine of the day, which would cause a stronger reaction on the test, and the doctor didn't use the first urine of the day.

I would say you are pregnant. Congratulations.
You are already pregnant so folic acid is not going to matter much now. Eat plenty of green veg and if you like spinach then eat it.
See your doctor as soon as you can. Do Not drink any alcohol. No seriously None. Even a small amount can make a big impact on the baby.
Good luck.

First of a CONGRATULATIONS angel.

Sounds to me like you are very pregnant.

Yes you should start taking Folic acid straight away.Don't read books though these can make you very paranoid. Just take it easy, and if you get morning sickness, ( which is c r a p by the way ) then go to boots, they have these little wrist bands with a pressure point on them ( they are for travel sickness) but they work.

A pint of Guinness a day is also good for you, full of iron, don't spend silly money on stretch mark creams ( they don't work) if your mother or sister ( if you have one ) haven't got stretch marks then you won't get them. Oh and eat what ever you fancy. Cos 9 out of 10 it's what your body needs and it's crying out for it.

Other than that, just don't smoke. ( it really does effect your baby) .

Good luck, and enjoy being pregnant X x x

Hi im 16 weeks pregnant with my first child. I think if you've taken four tests and your doctor didnt seem to be following the correct procedure then you should get a second opinion, even if it's just to put YOUR mind at rest coz that's he most important thing. Most doctors reccomend that wether you're pregnant, or trying to get pregnant, you should start taking Folic acid as soon as possible. Its good for your growing baby and also for you.
Hope all works out for you x

I have heard that there are never false positives, but there can be false negatives. I would start with the vitamins and act as if you are pregnant because it sounds like you are. Also, if you doctor did not retest you after hearing about your 3 positive tests, then I would try and see a different doctor. Good luck.

GONGRATULATIONS!!! Just to share my incident with you. Like you, I had tried three pregnancy tests before going to my family doctor. While waiting for my doctor to confirm that I am pregnant (tell you, the test done by her is very slow in the showing the positive result), so when she asked me when did I realise that I am pregnant, my first reaction to her is "Is the result negative"? She told me to relax cos it will takes more then 5mins for the result to come out. True enough, the result is positive. Perhaps, you should go to another doctor for the test again...Meanwhile, take good care of yourself......

I'm sorry but your story doesn't make sense. A doctor will do a blood test or urine, but they will not do a home pregnancy test. It also doesn't make sense he gave you a test to bring home. What would be the point of going to the doctor?

Go to a diffrent doctor. Don't take any medication until the doctor says it is fine. More than likely you are pregnant but let the doctor be the deciding factor.
Good luck

My sister did an at home pregnancy test, and it came back positive. She went to the doctor, and she had another one done. It came back negatived. She is now going to deliver in late October.
