when was the first time nose-picking in public became a undesirable habit?

the civilastion, the time-period...etc.
i believe it wasnt *always* considered a bad habit.
let us also assume that it is generally accepted as undesirable in most of the civilized world.

I don't know, but it's a nasty, disgusting habit. Additionally, mucus is loaded with germs. I've seen grown men picking their noses at stop lights. People, please stop your kids from doing this! They are making the rest of us sick...literally and figuratively!

While you're at it, teach them to wipe their nasty noses. I taught mine to do it as toddlers, so it can be done.
