I mean, will it still be soft afterwards or will my hair be dry and frizzy if i get a perm? How much does it actually damage your hair?

It depends on your hair type, I think a perm is really 80's, and I have seen some women that get perms who's hair looks really dry and frizzy I guess it's all about knowing how to care for it after you get it done. Also, go to someone that really knows what they are doing... Good Luck!

If you get a perm your hair will still be soft afterwards and it is a chemical treatment to your hair that causes curl. It will not damage your hair if it is done right. But don't get another perm until the permed hair has grown out. That is where problems start. Hair business is very competitive and they may try to sell you another perm sooner than you should. This will cause damaged hair and possibly breakage and hair loss. I recommend a hair salon(do not try it at home) that a friend or relative is comfortable with and stay away from the big fancy named salons, you get the same perm same results but for more money.

Not knowing you and seeing your hair, one cannot give a proper answer to your question.
In general, a perm should not ruin your hair. If it did, no one would have one and hairdressers would have a lot less business. But there are people whose hair is sensitive or has other special conditions. If you are in doubt, you should consult a Trychologist before going ahead with the perm.

It depends on a lot of issues. However, if you go to a stylist that knows wht they are doing, they should be able to provide you with a perm that will not damage your hair. Just avoid over processing.

You should have a consult with a licensed and professional hairdresser prior to receiving the perm and it should be performed by one to ensure that it is done correctly.

Normally it shouldn´t if your hair is not dyed. You can aplly the chemicals twice a year and it will be fine. I am talking from the white race perspective.
