People continually ask questions that can readily be found on the internet or a library. Is it a lack of diligence, boredom or just wanting their names to show on the net? There are many serious and very intelligent people with real knowledge to offer to others but I think the question askers should have the common courtesy to at least write their questions in intelligible language. I appreciate that this is a global forum but sheer lack of an attempt to communicate an idea or question is deplorable. The gibberish falls between the cracks. Should Yahoo create a special playroom? Many people are sincere with their quest for esoteric knowledge, and more power be to them, but show-offism is childish. Answers should reflect sound thinking not a glib reply.

I agree 100%. Maturity is a big part of using this forum the way it was meant, but unfortunitely, there is not much of that here.

I hear that man. The fact is that we are all here to ask questions, no matter how dumb the question may be. Even though it may feel that some questions shouldn't get such higher regard as others, it might mean something to the person who's asking it. For example, the singles and dating, I feel it is absolutely being abused by bored out of their mind, sex driven pre-teens. Every once in a while though, there comes a question about how someone is heart broken about losing their boyfriend or girlfriend, and really need help about how to coax with it. If there was some sort of separation, they probably wouldn't really get the complete knowledgeable answer they were looking for, just a bunch of people leaving stupid remarks.
What I tried to say with this is that who is to say that one persons question is better than others? Some questions may seem childish and dumb, but maybe they're being serious. They might genuinely not know something about sex, religion, new clothing fads, etc. Just because their question doesn't have a very deep meaning doesn't mean that their question doesn't matter. They are still trying to gain knowledge from others around the globe just like you and me, but just on a smaller scale.
There are some people that just come around here for fun. To mess with people and leave crude remarks on people questions. To leave stupid questions that aren't really meant to get answers. I don't know why they're here. They don't serve any purpose. There's many of online games out there, I don't see why they don't use those.
There's something you can do about these people. Ignore them and their remarks. Skip over their questions and pay no attention to their answers. The less notice they get the more they will get bored with the site and eventually leave.
I hope I did a good job of answering your question, I can get kind of off track sometimes and lose sight of the real question at hand.
P.S. I do agree with you on the spelling, it's kind of ridiculous.

Simply put, it's the nature of the beast. Actually, there are quite a few good questions and answers here. You just have to pick and choose carefully. Beware of the trolls. Best thing to do is ignore them and sift through the garbage. Occasionally you will find a real gem. Happy surfing.

There are many reasons for this. But I think the most likely reason is pure word of mouth. There are ads for this all over the internet, and tv.
