Paintball doesn't have the same following as Curling? I think there are 20 people in America who understand that sport. I played a big game with 1,250 players. The last amateur Speed Ball Tourney I played in needed 4 days to get through the elimination rounds.
And not a sport? It has professional teams and is aired on ESPN (Everything SPorts Network)

Hey listen to all of you nay-sayers paintball is too a sport(well at least you can classify speedball and xball as such) Yes it involves shooting so what? Both speedball and xball are extremely physically demanding and involve many of the same skills involved in other sports. Running, communication, quick thinking, shooting is only one aspect of the sport.
If people would bother actually looking into these two tournament levels of paintball they would soon realize that there is almost nothing linking the tournament scene to warfare and the community has tried very hard to promote this image.
So you know what if curling and other such wimpy activities such as online gaming deserve a spot here so does paintball END OF DISCUSSION!

Because it's not really a sport, it's an activity. Just like hunting or fishing, sorry 'bout that "sportsmen"
Oh, by the way, just cause ESPN covers it, it doesn't make it a sport...They've covered Competitive Eating before as well....

...Well, they do have professional teams such as Team Dynasty & Team Smoke. Maybe in time they'll be recognized as being an actual sport, and a very competitive one at that.

Because it does not have a large enough base to support its own heading - join the ranks of synchronized swimming, gymnastics and ballroom dancing, they are facing the same dilemma.....
