It seems that many Americans have stange ideas about how dangerous/ addictive/ harmful cannabis is. In my experience - quite considerable - very few people experience any problems whatever from their pot smoking.
Are you still shown shock-tactic anti-pot vids in school or what? You seem to have been programmed to reem out the same misinformed crap everytime anyone mentions it...

I know what you mean. I'm not a smoker, but I know for a fact all it does is make you kind of clumbsy for a little while. You don't get in wrecks when you're high. You don't feel like going out and murdering anyone. What the hell is my society's problem?

LEGALIZE

That's a difficult question to answer. Pot was declared an illegal substance by the federal government because of its mind altering capacity. Why ban pot and not alcohol? Who knows, both have similar affects on the brain and long term use of either can have deleterious affects on other organs of the body, or in the case of pot lead to the use of stronger drugs once the effects of pot reach a point where they don't give the expected "high" that the individual wants to achieve. I personally believe that pot is no worse than alcohol and should be legalized, even though I have no desire or ever had a desire to use the stuff. I think legalizing pot would thin out our prison population, increase tax revenue by taxing the sale of the substance like tobacco (especially since pot is the second largest cash crop grown in the U.S., and reduce the burden on our court system.

As a reformed MaryJane schmoker, I can tell you, you're full of beans brah. It slows down your reflexes and CAN be addictive.., though I personally did not become addicted, there are those who do...., and you have to read through the "Hah! I can quit any time I want, but just don't want".

I have worked with people who came to work high on marijuana and accidents happened. Injury to themselves or someone else and I wont even go into the numbers of crack addicts.

I was among your group that laughed at the school teachers and church ladies and old fashioned type that just didn't understand how safe and cool marijuana was..., THAT was the thinking.

And when you clear away all the smoke - its illegal. When you get caught and hauled into jail, be a man about it and don't be whining, "why me!?" I hate that. People know something is illegal and you can go to jail and in some cases, prison, and cry baby when they get arrested.

As the old adage goes, "If you can't do to time, don't do the crime".

I have seen the effects on people first hand and I wouldn't touch that stuff with a ten foot pole I don't care how you try to justify it.

It's a mind altering drug, plain and simple it's bad, the same goes for alchohol, it should be banned to.
