Funny, he doesn't seem like the angry and violent type. But I know appearances can deceive. Do you think that they are plotting another attack like 911?

Should you look at every teenager as if they are plotting a school shooting or a town riot? What if every black person was planning on breaking into your home and stealing from you? Do you see every single Mexican as an illegal trespasser taking all your tax money? If no, then why see every Muslim as an angry, American-hating, sword-wielding, turban-wearing psycho? Hey, it happens...who are we to deny it? But does that mean that since there may be an angry, American-hating, sword-wielding, turban-wearing psycho Muslim or two that ALL are the same?
Are all Americans greedy, snooty, arrogant, ignorant maroons? There may be a few, but that doesn't mean we ALL are, does it?

Some of us aren't "cultured" enough to know that differences exist throughout the rest of the world and within the unknown, so when we see a person of a different culture or faith, we assume that everyone that belongs to that same culture or faith are the same, even when evidence otherwise is right beneath our nose.

You never know, your boss, co-workers, real estate agent, grocery store clerk, Boys/Girls Scout Trooper, teacher, physician, pharmacist, neighbor, or even the cable guy could be "one of those Islamics" and you'd never know it until he or she told you so. There is as much diversity in the Muslim world as there is in America, sooooo, to assume means to make an....I think you know the rest. Just take a look for yourself the different types of Muslims throughout the world, it's quite interesting...

Did you like this neighbor before you knew of their religious choice? Why does this bother you now? The person matters more than the choice of religion! By saying that "he doesn't seem like the angry and violent type" you are lumping your neighbor in with a group of people who are very outspoken in their views--good or bad--and making a serious mistake in your future relationship with this neighbor. Does this neighbor have a problem with what ever religion you are? Are they lumping you into any specific group because of it? Would you rather someone gets to know you or do you just want to be another faceless member of some group of "those people"?

My family religious background is very mixed--Orthodox Catholic, Jewish, Baptist, Catholic & Presbyterian. I really don't totally agree with any of those--and I don't close my eyes to what others believe in or judge them for it. I have friends that are of many different religions, we just don't talk about religion unless we have a specific question about a specific belief or ideal. Then we ask, get an answer and continue on with our lives. It really is that simple--or should be for everyone!

Don't be quick to make a judgment or cause unwarranted trouble for your neighbor.Chances are he is just an ordinary citizen just like you. Since 911 many people have allowed fear to control their lives. For sure 911 was a tragedy but terrorists are not just Islamics. How soon people forget the terrorists in the Oklahoma bombings were home grown Americans. If you think you have just cause to be suspicious of your neighbor then contact authorities. If you have nothing but fear to arouse your suspicions don't spread idle gossip.

Focus on the things that make us the same. For example, you could be a Christian, the neighbor on one side of you a Jew, and the one on the other side a Muslim.

1. You all want a safe environment for your children.

2. You're all worried about the price of gas.

3. None of you really want to cut the grass in this heat.

4.You're all dreading your mother-in-law's visit.

Spend a little time thinking about what makes us the same, and a little less about what makes us different.

Treat him as he would treat you in his own country. You may end up in a lot of trouble if you do, unless he is unlike all the ones you hear about. Ask him what would happen to you if you went to his country in a mini skirt and started making demands on the government for a christian church to be built in a prominent Islamic location. Add to that tell him your race will kill all un-beleivers and the rivers will flow with blood. Tell him that you will start a holy war if he writes a book called satanic christians. The trouble is, I have never met one old German who said that he agreed with Hitler and I've met a lot of old Germans. Nobody forgives white people for slavery, even though it was the Arabs and africans that invented it, and the white race that developed enough human understanding to end it. Hands up anyone who cheared when the two towers fell. hands up all who have forgiven and want to forget that day. hands up anyone in that bunch who lost their wife and child.

nothing but befriend him and treat him as you would want to be treated! why assume that everybody is bad? why judge people before you even give them a chance, because if you don't then you may go though life missing out on some of the best experiences in the world!!!!

you can't judge someone you don't know, and you can't know for sure that Muslims did this attack, some people accused them for their own benefit(to justify the war on the middle east and so they could control the petrol sources,to sell weapons, to help the Zionism to spread out and dominate the world....etc),if you read the articles during that period you would know that, you might have this pre-judgment cause you have heard from one side you have to hear from both sides to know the truth.

Respect his religion & be a friendly neighbor to him. If you suspect or see anything out of the ordinary with his activities then you might report to the local authorities just as you would with any other situation. We have freedom of religion in the US, it is one of our constitutional rights.

Be a nice neighbor. We should never judge one person because of others actions. He probably didn't like being in his country and came here where it's better in some ways.

Are you kidding?
Don't be so paranoid.
The basis of all religions are based on love and peace.... that includes Islam.
It's the EXTREMIST, brainwashed groups that you have to be
worried about.
Take ONE person at a time and be KIND.
