My combo drive is TSST: Samsung. I get a crc -- cyclic redundancy check -- error while installing certain games (namely Max Payne2). I tried the device manager option but der aint no settings tab for turnin dma off as in 98 for cd roms. should i try the registry keys? also certain files wont copy and as a result i cant play the game.

Please help!

If you turn off DMA any DVD you attempt to watch will stutter throughout. If some software is having an issue installing, I recommend contacting the software manufacturer, you may have gotten a bad cd.
