I never bothered to even look at my nose until i was 14 and one day my mom told me that i should use my finger to rub my nose because it was getting big and that by rubbing my finger against my nose it would had stop it from going bigger and ugly, it didn't take long before my nose became the ONE big thing in my head, i did rubbed but unlike my mom said, rubbing didn't change a thing. Soon my nose grew and i started to cover my self when someone was lookin at me from any side. It was a struggle going to public places, school etc. Soon i started to think that anyone who didn't like me it was because of my nose. My whole life turned upside down, i failed grades, i closed my self at home i didn't go to college and covering my self was a must. I went as far as trying to break my nose so that i would had an excuse to have plastic surgery but i regret it and no matter how much i will suffer for it i would never have plastic surgery, plus make up isn't just going to change my nose, HELP?

wow, that is not a healthy situation.

i would suggest that, if you can afford it, find a good surgeon, and have the surgery. psychological therapy is always an option, but, at this point, it has been such a source of torment for you for so long, and physically altering it would simply alleviate the situation instantly.

yes, there are major issues with your self confidence, etc., but this is a complex matter. it also often has the chicken-egg aspect. yes, a healthy sense of self could provide you with a full life in spite of physically un-ideal qualities, but, for the same token, physical beauty may lead to a healthy sense of self.

assuming one can afford it, there is no shame in having plastic surgery. it is not morally wrong to do so. people take measures all the time in their daily lives to appear physically attractive, whether it be through nice clothes, make-up, accessories, hair styles, etc. Physical attractiveness is of paramount importance in society - in courtship, in careers, you name it. you can, as with anything, become obsessive about plastic surgery and over-do it, but, outside of this possibility, there is nothing wrong with having it done. It can dramatically change one's outlook on life for the better.

good luck.

Well, for starters, if this is all true, your mom needs a good *****-slapping. I can't believe a mother would say that to their own child. >.<

Secondly, you really need to embrace those funny little differences that make you you. Yes, you may think it looks a little bad, but I can guarantee that everyone else is too busy worrying about their own imperfections to really notice yours. So what if you have a big nose? Other people have big noses, too. Some people have big lips, others have eyes that aren't even, some have excruciatingly severe acne...whatever! No two people are going to look the same.

Now, go to the doctor and have your nose fixed (as in fixed so that it's not broken and works properly) and stop worrying about it!

if you are not going to have plastic surgery why are you whining? there is nothing else you can do to change your nose. have the surgery or get over it. people don't dislike you because you have a big nose. if anything they got tired of you obsessing about something that's probably not nearly as big a deal as your mother made it out to be. way to go, mom... low self esteem for everyone.

It's not your nose that's ruining you life...it's the way you're looking at it.That's not to say that your unhappiness with you nose is not valid; I think that you're taking it a tad too far if it's making your life *that* miserable.

If you went as far as trying to break your nose I'd have to think that you have some serious psychological issues. Is your nose really that hideous? I find that hard to believe. You are probably young (teenager?), and younger people tend to exaggerate when it comes to their flaws.

I hope you come to accept your nose and finish your education. I would've said I hope you get the surgery you wanted, but the thing about trying to break your own nose is *highly* disturbing. Remember, Michael Jackson started off with just one nose job, too...

Your mother told you a lie, first of all. Rubbing your nose will not change its size. You have become so self conscious, you have developed a personality disorder. Now you need therapy. Why don't you think plastic surgery will help you? You need to see a psychologist and a plastic surgeon. Please get help.

I think you are obsessing about your nose size.

This is more of an issue of self-esteem. Get the nose job so you feel better about yourself.

deal with it. if this is your "biggest" problem you have more serious issues than your damn nose. see a shrink. no pun intended.
