"...because I have accepted you into my heart and you have given your promise that "whosoever believeth in Him (you) shall not perish." I know that I'm not worthy, but have come under Your grace and You have made me acceptable in your eyes."

Greetings.

If you are a christian asking this question (and you probably are because this is a very popular question to ask in Christian circles), I hope that you see the responses that you're getting from those who don't believe like you do and who don't give a rat's *** about the subject. One thing you should do is sit and think about how OVERLY SIMPLISTIC and even UNSCRIPTURAL that question is let alone how OVERLY SIMPLISTIC and INCREDIBLY SHALLOW the answers are that you're getting from Christians.

While I do believe that believing and embracing Jesus is the foundational key to eternal life (John 1:12-13, John 3:16, etc.). You need to take a closer look at the judgment criteria that Jesus lays down in Matthew 25. It's NOT just "I accepted Him into my heart". It's about readiness (The Parable of the Ten Virgins), stewardship (The Parable of the Entrusted Talents) and service to humanity (The Parable of the Sheep and Goats).

I believe that if we, as followers of Christ, focused more on the things that Jesus mentioned as "criteria" at the judgment then we wouldn't need to go on the internet and embarrass ourselves with these overly simplistic questions which a very rational, yet unbelieving, public will surely mock. (P.S. And, don't let the wacko dispensationalists convince you that the issues in Matthew 25 don't apply to ALL Christians.)

Well, Jesus would not ask me that. I do not qualify for heavenly life. So far, I qualify for life on earth where peace and happiness will be restored to humans. I qualify for the fulfillment of the promise Christ mentioned at Matthew 5:5: "Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth." King James Version

Therefore, Jesus would not ask me that. He already knows I do not belong in heaven. He has not made a covenant with me for a kingdom spoken of at Luke 22:28-30.

I'd rather be on earth anyway. Paradise conditions, good food and wine, babbling brooks, magnificent sunrises and sunsets, gorgeous blankets of snow, laughing babies, love and marriage, traveling to other places without borders, no crime, no sickness, no old age, no death, no war. Now that's the real life spoken of by the apostle Paul at 1 Timothy 6:17-19.

Being Buddhist, we believe that life is cyclical and you atone for your deeds by reincarnation to learn from your errors and by the time you would meet Him, you would have reached a state of perfection of the soul. A symbol of Buddhism is the wheel and the soul is kept on this circle, and release from the cycle means achievement of perfection. Whereas we don't believe in sin, we believe there is merit in life or lack of merit, and a life of merit brings us closer to Nirvana (Heaven). So in short, we earn the right by paying for our misdeeds by earthly punishment by reincarnation. We believe that things are not so harsh as portrayed by other faiths. Both Jesus Christ and Buddha were teachers and tried to show the ways to correct our lives. If they had met, they would have had much in common but obviously with different ways to solve the problems of man.

1. Jesus does not Speak English so I wouldn't know he said that.
2. Jesus Died, he was human not the son of god.
3. I'd ******* punch him in the face for causing the wars that have been created in our time.

If I met this man you call jesus, I'm sure he would be shaking a cup outside a 7-11 and I would give him my spare change.

LoL, because i was a good person who never hurt anyone and worked to make the world a better place.

of course accoridng to "god" i would go to hell anyway since i never had faith in him and would die, like the first answer said, all i would have to do is believe he died for my sins, and i dont.

Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord, " and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

I have done this so I have nothing to worry about.

I would say:
Who died and made your boss of me?
You elitist son of a *****! Who the hell do you think you are?
Then I would proceed to check myself into a mental hospital right away. My mind is obviously playing tricks on me.
If you believe in all this nonsense,
How will you know when you have gone mad?

I'll say because I tried to be a good person as you taught, and I ignored all the people who said they spoke for you yet were cruel.

i'd tell him this:

i wasn't aware that i had to please you, i guess i was under the false notion that it was MY life i was leading. i was silly.
if you honestly think that i am not worthy to get into heaven simply because i do not believe that you are god, heaven isn't worth getting into. i'd rather be dead or in hell, where there is still some semblance of reason.
