I think the reason that girls do this is because Maybe one they just want there friends to like him and get along with him, or maybe depending on how good your friend is, they could be trying to make you jealous. Either way you to will also get a time to be able to "show" your boyfriend off, and you will love every second of it:)

Who doesn't show off. Men show off with their girlfriends, cars, etcetc. But actually it's just a competitive streak some girls/women have in themselves. Especially if there's another chick around who did the samething to them. It's just showing 'HA I outbeat ya you b'tch!'

Because they are proud when they have a good boyfriend. And when they bring their boyfriends to meet the parents, they know the boyfriend respects them back.
