Having never smoked pot and occasionally partaking of alcohol, I would have to say that alcohol is the lesser of 2 evils.
Both are addictive, both are expensive. One rots your liver, one rots your lungs. Both fry your brain when use to excess.
Alcohol is regulated and this is consistent. Pot is unregulated and sometimes you get much more potent dose and you just don't know what you are subjecting your body too.

Personally I think that both harm the body but then again cigaretts too. From experience Alcohol makes one loose control over his mind & body big time. U always are warned against drinking n drivin but not smoking n driving.
Smoking makes & a bit slow, but drinking makes U fast, actually too fast to be able to make proper control on yr actions.
With regards to the examples you gave that must be ppl who over do it, & when U over do anything it's baaaaad...
have a nice day

I don't participate in either, but to answer your question I think pot is the lesser of two evils, hands down.

I have partaken of both, and had both take control of my life. Alcohol is probably more readily available and definitely less costly. Everyone responds differently to each and either one can turn you into a doofus or a corpse. I have successfully resisted the (now occasional) desire for both (among others) for over 17 years.

Evil is Evil - both are addictive
however I think that alcohol is more acceptable socially and the effects are not as disasterous as Pot.

At least with pot I feel better and won't be puking my guts out.
And I never got a headache from pot like I did with alcohol.

The answer to that question lies with the individual. Those who indulge with neither are most definitely better off. After all both alter your minds and to some degree dulls your senses.
In my opinion if one is an idiot, he will be a bigger idiot on either. If either is done in moderation they are less harmful to both your senses and your health.

I think pot is the lesser evil. Your not going to be angry or belligerent when your stoned, your going to be hungry and lazy. Plus your not going to drive(because your paranoid) and your not going to wake up in someones bed w/regret.

Pot is quite obviously the lesser evil.
The reasons are obvious, but I will just say this: 'pot-related crime' is not a social problem, 'alcohol-related crime' is a massive one.

Both, if they are addictions, are about the same in severity because of the underlying cause of the addiction. Addictions/compulsions/obsessions may be caused by hypoglycemia - one result of hyperinsulinemia.
For basic information on hypoglycemia, check out www.hufa.org. For basic information on hyperinsulinemia, check out www.mayoclinic.com/health/hyperinsulinemia/HQ00896
