As mentioned above, the padded gloves do somewhat cushion the blow. It's definitely not the same as being hit in the nose with a hard, bony fist. A straight punch to the nose usually doesn't land full force either since a good boxer can see it and move away from it even if it still ends up landing flush.

One of the most important things, though, is that big fights have boxers who have proven they have the genetics for the sport. Some boxers' noses are just naturally more durable. If you go see any club fighting, though, they're much more likely to get bloody noses there.

Alot of the noses do bleed they just dont run, if you watch mid round the trainers usually have an ear cleaner stuck up there to wipe the blood away.

The most likely reason it doesnt run is due to damage from yeas of taking shots to the nose, that just my theory though. Also remember that a large part of boxing is not getting hit cleanly, boxers do lots of little things to prevent them taking a full force blow.

hi rupert,

i think most ppl here hav misunderstood your question. they are answering
"why DOES a nose bleed....?"
rather than
"why DOESN'T a nose bleed...?"

anyway i dont know the answer but heres my theory:

boxers spar a lot for training and so the skin and flesh of their nose becomes thicker/stronger/more robust as a result of being hit their often. so the threshold that needs to be breached in order to cause a nose bleed for them is higher than us average ppl.

Also the boxers wear protective gloves that not only protect the hands but also the opponents face from the much more damage that would be done bare-nuckle.

hope this suggesttion helps.

when you first start out in boxing you tend to have a hole lot of nose bleeds but the more experienced you get you take less direct hits to your nose but the main reason is that your nose becomes stronger to the punishment it receives and bleeds less! talking from experience im a boxer and had my nose broken twice. . .

it will be as undesirable is inner bleeding or only an straight forward nostril bleed. i'd take her to the vet. I had to placed my dogs down some months in the past and that i become so unhappy yet I knew that she would not be in any soreness. and This boxer will be in soreness. Have her appeared at.

If they get pounded in the nose, they will eventually bleed.

If they're not hit in the nose, say hit in the stomach, then why would their nose bleed? If you strain your ankle, your elbow doesn't get sore.

Read the question people before u answer. **** sakes people are stupid!!

As for the question, I don't know it's probably because their nose is so used to getting knocked that it's hardened up a bit.
