Go to Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs > find the entry for Norton, click it and do a remove.

Sometimes when Norton products are removed, they leave behind registry entries that continue to cause erros. If you go to the norton web site, you can download an uninstaller that cleans the registry. It is unique for each program, so you will need to get the one for the specific Norton software you are using.

Norton is very difficult to completely remove.

First remove it from the add remove programs then go to C:\ProgramFiles\Symantec\NAV and delete that folder.

Now go to c:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\Symantec and remove the NAV folder.

That will still leave registry entries. If you have a registry cleaner run it. If you don't I wouldn't worry about it. If it concerns youi you can remove them with any registry cleaner.
