Cartoons have been around for centuries. Originally the word "cartoon" meant a drawing on large paper that was used by artists to lay out they're drawings. Political cartoons have been published in all sorts of pamphlets and newspapers since the middle ages. Since few people could read, the use of an illustration (often with a caption) to communicate could be understood by everyone.
In America we have elevated the cartoon by animating it, giving it sounds, music, and turning it into a form of entertainment. Animated cartoons are now an art form unto themselves, but we must remember that the animated cartoons normally seen on Saturday morning TV are not the only cartoons, though they may be the best know. The word "cartoon" covers any illustration used to convey a message, whether political or comical, fantasy, or satire.

Well a cartoon is a show that is not made up of real life people. It is made up of various drawings that wear the same clothes everyday!!

a real life person draws this some type of animated character on a piece a paper and keep on drawing to make an animated charcter on each page...thats all i know
