i don't believe that any religion is the right or wrong one .. i just feel it is right or wrong for the person concerned
religion in its essence is a wonderful way to " belong " with people who share similar beliefs , and in its essence they are about love and harmony and striving to live good lives
i choose not to have a religion because at the moment i don't belong in any specific one .. although i would say i am closer to spiritualist in my views
i don't believe that god would punish those who backed the wrong horse because i don't feel religion is a race
maybe they are all galloping side by side just enjoying the view as they ride along :o)

Come down from the vanity of faiths and beliefs and just look around. So many creations wonderfully functioning and among those "we the more wonderful beings" are set to live.
If science studies for millions of years, yet there will be things unknown. Under this situation, can you imagine that there was no brain behind it? We can agree if science could prove the origin beyond doubts.
The Creator has surely done it with an aim and watching how his work is progressing.
Keep aside all what religions teach. Go to any part of the world - let it be civilised or uncivilised (African forests or Eskimos or anywhere there is human beings), you will see that human beings always had the custom of worshipping the Creator in some form or the other. Even when one community was not knowing about other communities in the world - still they all had this custom as a common practise. How has it happened. Just think.
Suppose you made a good painting and it is displayed in a hall. People come and appreciate it. But the painter will be most happy when someone asks who did this work.
So seeing all that is around you - just try to find out who did this all.

I follow the Jedi religion. I strive to be as good as I can be. I do not claim to be perfect, but I hope I am on the right road to perfection.
I have see the teachings of many religions and to be honest, I think that most of them have got a LOT of things right at the core. They seem to have been tailored for their time or location and the ones that haven't kept up with the times are no longer followed, (almost as if there was a natural selection in the worshipping of creationism, which is just spooky).
Perhaps this is the message that your divine leader(s) wish you to hear? That it doesn't really matter about the niggly bits, so long as you do your best to respect yourself and the things you can control, and hope that respect comes back your way.
I am not advocating that anyone should change their faith.
I am, however advocating that we should take responsibility for out own actions and choose to do good wherever and whenever we are given the opportunity.
In answer to your question of who has the right religion, I would hope that everyone comes back with the same answer...
...what should that answer be?
(come on, say it with me...)
..."my religion is the right one".
d.
(ps, if you feel your religion is not right for you, you should change to one that is.)

I don't think any religion has it right. And there is no proof of anything, which is why you're told to have faith in something you can't see.
I guess it's important to have belief in something to help you get through this life. Because that's what religion is about: controlling how you act in this life and giving you a reason for all of the suffering. If someone dies horribly, it's God's will. If you hate the way your life is going, just hold on a little longer because God will have a reward for you at the end of it. It's the ultimate carrot-on-a-stick.

I believe that religion is a path to spirituality. I don't believe everyone is suppose to take the same path. I believe the ultimate goal of spirituality is to know that we all are connected to each other (what we do for or against others we are ultimately doing to ourselves).
I have studied many different religions in this life time and I found the perfect religion for myself, I don't claim that it is the only 'true' religion, just that it fits me and I understand and am able to have FAITH in what I believe in.
As for the 'one God', I'm not sure, i'd like to believe in one ultimate power of the Universe, but I lean more to the collective unconscious of all.
I don't believe in the Christian God - sorry, just don't, suppose to be this ever-good God, I've seen too much harm come to others in His name.
When I pray, I am heard, I see results, this strengthens my FAITH.
As for the 'bible' - there are certain things said that I feel are true, 'Do unto others as you wish done unto you', but the majority of the book just seems like men molding a male dominated religion. And truthfully I can't stand for someone to act like that book is the only book wrote through phophets on how humans should act. Truthfully it has been proven that these prophets took mind enhancing drugs, I don't condemn them, just don't try to pretend this didn't happen.
On a 'fair' God, I don't have any input on.

No religious system can have got it completely right - we can see in almost every organisation how somethings have gone drastically wrong. What matters in the end is your personal relationship with God. You are only accountable for your own actions.
You have to understand the real meaning of "backing the wrong hose".
A child who puts his hand in the fire whether he/she was warned, will still get burnt. A criminal who many not believe in the law will still get sent to prison for committing a crime.
The difference is whether you back the horse in ignorance or arrogance.
An ignorant child will probably not want to put their hand in the fire next time. An ignorant criminal will probably try to learn and reform.
What will an arrogant criminal do? They will continue doing the same thing regardless of any punishment they get. They will simply get out of jail and commit the same offence again.

The point is that all the Gods are one God, when a Muslim prays to Allah and when a Christian prays to God they still go to the same person.
I think religion is very important because I like to have somebody there who will catch me if I fall and make right all my c*ck ups, but some people don't want to depend on God, they prefer to right their own wrongs. So no, religion doesn't matter in the long run. But it matters to me and many others.

I don't really be leave in any one religion, because there are too many. What is to say that only one religion is true?? Majority of religions are just a revision of another one example christian holidays are based on pagan ceremonies, paganism was around before Christianity... people in general need an explanation for why things happen like the Greeks and Romans they had a god/goddess for everything that happened around them.

Religion is an interpretation of something that "happened" a long time ago. Then religion branched out to satisfy certain rights people shoiuld have. It was re-interpreted. Frankly, I think the guy that wrote the bible, wrote a great book. Good enough to make people think, and then follow.
To answer the question - It doesn't matter. Your role in life is to understand your belief (and there lack of) and to respect others for theirs.
I hate it when people start preaching to me about god or whatever.

John 14:16
Jesus said, I am THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life. NO one comes to the Father except through Me.
Jesus is the only prophet who kept every prophecy that was ever spoken of Him. The only one we await is His return.
God is a fair God. He's giving you a chance to turn away from what is not right and accept His Son. What you need to accept is that you cannot buy your own way into heaven no matter what you do. But when Jesus hung on the cross and bled and suffered, He bought all God's forgiveness for us with His own blood. He didn't need it for Himself.
If someone hands you a pretty gift all wrapped up it's no good to you unless you open it. If someone offers you a large sum of money, it's no good unless you accept it. It's the same with Jesus. He was God's gift. He paid the price we cannot pay ourselves. Other religions say you have to BE GOOD. It is not in human nature to be perfect so they are already lost. Some say you have to DO GOOD. No human being will ever do enough good to make up for all the evil in the world, LOST. God says, Jesus IS the personification of Good...in fact...Holy, which is beyond perfect. He took on our sins and paid for them.
Yes, there is a certain amount of faith required for this. The faith of that one step of accepting, and its not easy. As for PROOF, its been proved that all the events of Jesus were historically correct and there is evidence to the same.
I have worked with the elderly and seen them die. Those who die without Jesus are most often the ones in agony. The people who have Jesus may agonize in illness for a time, but often their final moments are peaceful. One woman I know opened her eyes very wide after a long time of resting with them closed. She looked up and said how beautiful He was, aloud. Then she was gone. It is obvious He came to take her home.
Jesus also talked alot about Hell. There is more in the Bible about Hell than Heaven. Hell is total separation from God and Love. You won't be with your buddies who are in hell also. It is total darkness and total alone. Then after Jesus returns and renders final judgement there will be the eternal hell fire... Not pretty.
Only one person can choose what is right for that person. That is self.
Religion is the rote practice of rituals to please God. It says at more than one place in the Bible that rituals don't please Him. He doesn't want you to have Religion......He wants you to have a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus, His Son.
I know this answer will catch alot of flack, but I know it is backed by the Bible and years of experience of Christians in History and those I know, and my own experience. Be Blessed.
