first to understand the concept of soul, u have to understand that u are not the body. this has been preached by great seers. u are what is called the soul. u are the one, i mean the soul, that makes this body do whatever it is doing. but due to the effect of an illusion called maya(created by god), u do not recogniose urself as the soul and u recognise urself as the body. once that illusion disappears, u can see the truth, i.e. that u are tha soul. the soul does everything that u think that u are doing.in actual, u are the soul and the body is just a medium thru which the soul acts.

The soul is what differentiates you from me. It shapes the way you will look when we are conceived by our parents. It has a hard-ware (which can not be altered by the environment) and a soft-ware which changes (moods, intelligence, hope).
The soul seems to interact with the body, that is why you can identify a "fresh" dead body from a sleeping person.
Also the souls interconnect with other souls through bodies (we are having a discussion, or having sex or getting married).
The soul animates material.

ah and I almost forgot. There is no connection between soul and religion as we can read from some books.

Souls are the immaterial, intangible and moral centers of the higher animal. A soul is a beings "real" self. Somehow the being is said to require the soul in order to be complete.
Without a soul the body is said to be completely inactive, lifeless and unreactive.

Hi,
The soul is considered the mind, the will, and the emotions. The soul and spirit live on after the body ceases to exist.

A soul is a part of God. Your soul is a part of God. You are a part of God. Remember this; try to act like you believe it even if at first you find it difficult to believe. Religion has been misleading you about your true nature. You were created from the only thing God had in great abundance, love. Be this love that you are. Be as much like God as you can, judge nothing, love everything.

The soul is an imaginary hook that is intentionally installed in you by power hungry elitist religious fanatics used to hold onto you and control you to do their bidding.

Release the notion of soul, sin, god, or anything else that is made of supernatural stuff, and be free to live your life. It is your life and no one has claim to it. Unless you give it up voluntarily.
It is your only life, make it a good one!

Your soul is your consciousness. It is the part of you that thinks, and reasons. You are body, soul, and spirit. You are a spirit, living within and body ,which has a soul that thinks and reasons. Hope this helps.

The soul is the life force within you that makes you who you are. Once it leaves the body, you are no longer living. In short, it is the center of your being.

Your brain is your soul. Someone can beat you up, cut you up in dog food, but no one can take your soul away (your opinion, and what you like and dislike)

It's a bargaining chip. Such as: I'd sell my soul for some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream right now.

I sold mine back in 1985 for a neon pink Pogo Ball. *sigh* What a ripoff.
