there isn't any official "rule" dictating what one is "supposed to do" on the 1st or any date.
be yourself, like an earlier answerer said, treat your date with respect, be considerate, relax, try to be comfortable, and be comforting. these are things that we should probably all be, under any circumstances, anyway.
if your question pertains to actually "what" to do on the date, discuss what you both might want to do, don't be overbearing, but be decisive (i.e., no "oh, i don't know what i want to do, what do you want to do?"). a dinner, drink, coffee, etc. are always good, somewhere where it's quite enough that you can have a conversation, and get to know one another. movies, raves, etc. are not the most conducive places for conversations. however, sometimes, activity-rich first dates do work out great. you'll have to feel it out, both of you.
remember, don't worry about what or how you're "supposed to be." try to be genuine. if being genuine doesn't work for her, in the long run, she's probably not who you'll be wanting. of course, if your goal is simply to get into her pants, entirely different strategies may apply, about which i neither have the time nor the technical expertise to delve into.

Pick her up and take her to a nice comfy place, decent sorroundings, where there are no bad guys or hooligans. Give her a good treat. Even watch a movie before walking her back to home.
