Nice to see you again Bucky. Some use TIN form from the IRS, but if you look at the statistics, this only has about 12% of illegals paying taxes under their own names. Others may use fraudulent S.S cards, but it would be impossible to say how many are doing so. Living in a border city, I can say they DO NOT pay sales tax. This is a myth, especially if you live on the border. They have places where Mexican shoppers can go and present a receipt of purchase and get a full refund of any tax. Illegals who are Mexican can do the same, even if they live here. They work the system so it favors them.
Sidenote: They may contribute to S.S, but they use 69 billion dollars worth of social services. And that isn't counting the cost of educating them or jailing them when they break the law( Denver spent a million dollars on illegal prisoners just last year(yes, they separated this number from that spent on citizen prisoners). 7 billion pales in comparision, do the math.

If they're 'undocumented', did they emigrate? Not really...immigration's not in the 'splitting the atom' category of human endeavors...you either followed the rules, or you didn't.
'bums rush' immigration is harmful to the country, because a BIG growth industry is now JAILS. And prisons. For my nickel, tolerating illegal immigration has a negative impact on our society, and our economy as well. We've been had by our representation, and they've carefully kept a lot of this limp-wristed 'enforcement' under the carpet, hoping nobody'd find it remarkable. Well, unfortunately, the influx has now reached such proportions that it's getting to be a Big Problem. At least, that's how I see it...I don't think that everyone that's 'jumped the fence' is necessarily a hard-core criminal, but if you're willing to break US immigration laws, what's next? Speeding? Drug sales? Breaking and entering? Murder? My point is, our society is shaped by a structure of laws, and the enforcement that upholds those laws(or in this case, went out back and smoked a Big Fattie). Didya like the country ya grew up in? I did. I don't want to see some coked-out bandido acting out his Highlander fantasies on Main St., USA. Think that's a broad stretch of The Truth?

One thing is FOR CERTAIN - no matter what the pro-illegals say, the bulk of them do NOT pay taxes other than sales tax and yet, now I see here that another poster said that near the border there are places where they can even get a refund for the sales taxes that they pay! Blows me away! For people who don't seem to have the wherewithall to fix their own country, they sure as heck know how to figure out all the ways to reap the benefits and milk the system in the USA!

Now something for you to really chew on:illegal immigrants can even get tax Id#'s for their families in mexico(the ones from mexico anyways)to claim as dependents for their tax refunds.

Hey, Bucky! Nice to see you back. Illegal immigrants (some of them) do pay taxes on what their 'paycheck' shows as income. Many get paid in cash so they can still qualify as' low income' and get welfare, AFDC, etc. That 'CASH' is NOT taxed. They might make more than a lot of citizens but it's not all reported. The legal citizens pay taxes on ALL their income, so won't 'qualify' for assistance. Therefore, WE pay, through our taxes, for the WELFARE 'they' get and they are NOT EVEN LEGAL CITIZENS! It's absolutely ludicrous!!

Where I live they rent the places that should be empty and burnes down(old houses and dead parts of town, store fronts too)
