.......they fear admitting that we are not all devinely created perfection created in the image of some kind of god. That maybe our orgins are not quite so glamourous as they would like to think, that maybe we are not as important in this universe as they would like to think.

Does the fact that we shared a common ancestor with other primates dent their pride ?

Are they so full of themselves that they really believe we were devinely created ?

Is it letting go of this notion the real issue that creationists have ?

Some can. But we will never know, for sure. Sometimes I wonder why we evolved to jerk back from an electrical shock long before electricity was discovered. Sometimes I wonder why I can pick up other people's thoughts and vise versa. Sometimes I wonder why dreams come true. No one will ever know for sure. Science has it's place right alongside spiritualism, in my book.

I tend to agree with annetacular (below). Judge not, lest ye be judged. And it's divinely, not 'devinely', smarty. Perhaps if you were a little smarter, you would realize that you're not as smart as you thought you were.

obviously you do not know as much as you think you do about christians or their beliefs, you smugly and immediately start off bashing a very large group of people in the world, judging them on one aspect of their lives just because you do not agree with it. this behavior you are displaying is nothing more than bigotry: a way of looking at others you dislike or disagree with. why is it you are so bent on proving or disrespecting those you know nothing about? what is your problem with minding your own business and just letting other believe what they want and you believe what you want?

Not necessarily. Certainly with some.

Either way, nice ad hominem.
And by "nice ad hominem" I really mean, "Isn't it unfortunate that some individuals feel that the only way they can make their point strong enough is to attack the character of those with whom they are disagreeing?"

What about people like me who think god created evolution?
Does that make people like you feel really insignificant?
It should.
