Thankfully there is worldwide resistance, and scrutiny of the USAs quest for domination.
The USA has lost it's credibility, and is losing it's stranglehold on the rest of the world.
Hugo Chavez is a clear example of what can be achieved when countries disregard their orders from Washington:-
Over 17 million people now have access to free health care and medicines for the first time.
Over 1 million people taught to read and write.
Participation encouraged for all Venezuelans in the formation, implementation, and operation of their democracy.
Venezuela has become truly, of the people, by the people and for the people, after years of US intervention and suppression.

There is at last hope for us all, a chance to end inequality, and injustice. :)

It's not the end of the USA as such that is desired by the 6 billion other people on Earth, but the end of the military-industrial complex that has dominated the US for the last fifty years or more.

Certainly, a US that lived up to its ideals of life, liberty, and happiness for all, a US that stopped glorifying war and violence (and gun and pitbull/rottweiler dog ownership), a US that preferred justice for all and not just privilege for the rich and perverted would be a boon for humankind.

You mention Venezuela, but there are other countries that make people primary--all people--Cuba and Libya among them, but which are opposed by the military-industrial complex and thus have tons of negative propaganda levelled at them. If the US just joined the human species, that would be a benefit. But I'm afraid that the narcissism of Americans and the hegemony-seeking government will stand in the way.

you better hope the USA is never anything except the TOP world power baby,
Where you gonna get your Foreign Aid
your medicine and Doctors and Technology

if that ever happens its gonna be Jungle time bunky

with Clowns like Chavez calling the shots

the world would be on a very short fuse

Its all about Foreign Aid (MONEY)

in other words In the USA we work and pay taxes
the rest of the world hangs on street corners
except for a dozen or so industrialized nations

all we hear is how poor everyone is how sick everyone is
how hungry everyone is

maybe if they went out and looked for work there situation might improve

Instead they wait for the next visit by Bono or Brad Pitt and

Oh and by the way when they are not standing on street corners
they continue to spread disease and political dissent

hey man, if the USA collapses (and they're heading this way unfortunately :( ) there all the countries - including ur own precious venezuela will suffer a great deal. the usa is the strongest at the present, and if it was ruled by great people, and if it had more intelligent citizens, than the world would be a better one. think at all the great progress the us has brougth... they're trying to find cures for cancers, hiv, developing space programms, the computer ur using is based on technology developed in us, etc
the us govenrment has opressed venezuela, i know, but now it's the venezuelan poliicians who will opress the venezuelan people even more, u'll see, and the us govenrment will just have to pay more money to get what they want

So are you moving the Venezula?
If not, then your point is mute.

How long do you think Venezula will be able to keep things going without foreign aid? No Socialist society has ever prospered, it is be definition a flawed system. Sounds good to people that don't want to work for a living and/or have become obessed with hating people who have more, but all it does is spread misery equally.

How is Venezula going to pay for its free healthcare? What is the incentive for anyone there to actually work, when they will get just as much by doing nothing? More and more people will do nothing, less and less people will contribute, until the system falls apart.

Has any of you power to the poor long term improve their life style. Did the US say don't teach your people to read. The US being politically correct allows foolish people in this country to shoot themselves in the foot by staying illiterate. They had to get their doctors from Cuba, because theirs let so that they could get paid. The US push for participation in government. Unfortunately the US has become more socialistic. Both the US & England stopped creating infrastructure in 3rd World countries because they nationalized them. Their economic advancement slowed down.

You much be one of the fancially well off that doesn't have to work for a living. You most likely don't even realize how well off you are.

What are you doing with your life????

To tell you honestly, that is the way a dictator becomes one other than by force.Keep watching your pet country and see if things continue so well for the citizens once Chavez thinks he can not be removed from power.
Personally I hope he is a good leader and does take care of his people.
And it is usually U.S. aid not suppression. We have been the source of success for more countries than any other nation on earth.

Its sad that people actually believe such tripe. Does the United States have challenges? Certainly, it always has had challenges just like any other country. Venezuela is actually a country which is misusing its wonderful resources (primarily oil) to develop a government run economy. Such economies have been tried in one form or another but always fail. As the world moves toward energy independence, such economies will collapse faster than normally.

Hugo Chavez had to undergo a recall vote in 2004 (about two thirds through his six year term) and although he won with 58% of the vote 42% vote for his recall.

Its economy is represented by the following: Venezuela continues to be highly dependent on the petroleum sector, accounting for roughly one-third of GDP, around 80% of export earnings, and over half of government operating revenues. Government revenue also has been bolstered by increased tax collection, which has surpassed its 2005 collection goal by almost 50%. Tax revenue is the primary source of non-oil revenue, which accounts for 53% of the 2006 budget. A disastrous two-month national oil strike, from December 2002 to February 2003, temporarily halted economic activity. The economy remained in depression in 2003, declining by 9.2% after an 8.9% fall in 2002. Output recovered strongly in 2004-2005, aided by high oil prices and strong consumption growth. Venezuela continues to be an important source of crude oil for the US market. Both inflation and unemployment remain fundamental problems. An estimated 47% of the population is below the poverty line.

There is yet compulsory military service starting at 18 years of age for compulsory and voluntary military service; conscript service obligation - 30 months.

It is also in the drug trade as a small-scale illicit producer of opium and coca for the processing of opiates and coca derivatives; however, large quantities of cocaine, heroin, and marijuana transit the country from Colombia bound for US and Europe; significant narcotics-related money-laundering activity, especially along the border with Colombia and on Margarita Island; active eradication program primarily targeting opium; increasing signs of drug-related activities by Colombian insurgents on border

In a word, no. In your one example of free health care, where do you think the medicines are coming from? Do you think Venezuela is doing all the research and manufacturing?

As far as independence goes, get back to me the day Venezuela refuses to accept 193.8 million Euros.

If you don't like the United States, you should move. Most critics of our wonderful country have never been outside it's borders to see what other countries are like - for themselves. I disagree with you, but perhaps you might find more like-minded U.S.A. haters in Venezuela.
