Most jobs get boring after awhile. If you are young you could retrain and get a different job. but You may find the same problem in other fields as well. Is there something that you think would be more fun and do you seriously see yourself going back to school to get another degree to do it? Would you have support while you went back to retrain? Or, Can you get a better job that pays enough for you to live on that has the your interest level you want without going back to school. I wouldnt quit till you have answered those questions and no one else can answer them for you. Perhaps you can let your job just be a job and find something you love to do after work or on weekends. Rock climbing or art classes or anything you love to do. At least you would have the money to do those things if you have a good steady job and the hotel business is a good one right now. I hope this helps.

There is a secondary value to the kind of job you're doing. Even though boring and not delivering what you hoped for, it's giving you experience and a background. Even if you don't fully realize how much experience your getting, it's there and it's going to benefit you in the long term. You didn't say how long youve been there or your age. But consider it a stepping stone to a change later on. You'll find something more appealing and maybe even that won't be fulfilling and you'll move again. Each job is an invaluable experience and good to have in your resume. Later in life you'll feel good even for the boring jobs for what they gave you in developing the 'whole' you.

it shouldn't be tat boring working in hotel, esp u r hotel mgmt graduate. but as 'lady-effie' said...sooner or later, u will find any job boring.

r u working in front line departments? ones personality is very important for working in this area. u r expected to be talkative, outgoing, sociable, cheerful, and hopefully if u r pretty, tat will score some points.

if u dont like to talk to new people, if u dont like to smile...its difficult then.

have u try or been to training in the front office or sales department? it should be a interesting experience to work there.

open up ur mind, there r lots of opportunities in hotel business nowadays. more new hotels coming up b4 the olympic 2008.

If you don't like it then yes, quit. But have you thought about Cruise ships? That might be fun for awhile.
