Barbie was based upon a German doll named "Lilli", a popular character appearing in a German comic strip. At some point, Mattel acquired the rights to the Lilli doll. A new sculpt was designed (with help from engineer Jack Ryan), the concept was revamped, and the doll was given a new name: Barbie, after Ruth Handler's (President of Mattel) daughter, Barbara. The doll made its debut at the New York International American Toy Fair on March 9, 1959. (This date is also used as Barbie's official "birthday".)

even as Aqua did the music initially, i'm nevertheless of the opinion that some dutch guy said as Ome Henk has so a techniques executed the merely excellent conceal of it. it really is the most hilarious element i have ever heard. he's replaced the lyrics, and the lady making a music feels like a banshee or perhaps as Ome Henk sings, you in ordinary words can not help yet imagine if Hitler began making a music to Barbie woman. classic.
