Look for a remote small town in Western Europe, in France or Italy for example. That may be a quiet and nice place.

Tangier, Morocco, Just fly to Malaga, get the 10.30 bus to Algerceras, and bingo, or not, you are in Tangier in one hour on the ferrry, of course, passing the u.k. enclave of Gibraltar, where spirits are 3 qide a litre, and cigs under a quid. Apart from that, I do not think there is any where exiting and fun in Erope, as the hen and stag three day party drunks have ruind Ansterdam and Barcelona. But, if you have a bit of nice cash. Paris. Go to Paris. stay in Ville Jule, last stop on the metro, cheep hotel, and you can get a three four day ticket, and to to Monparnasse....llate bus home etc. Cheap flights too. Good luck with your fun. Morocco has more fun than anywhere else I have been in the world, except it is different to supping pints all day and eating chips.

Prague is lovely. For a nice, fairly cheap holiday, check into the Ibis Hotel in Smichov (newly built so very nice). This is close to the Old Town (very romantic) and the Castle which is a must see. My favourite restaurant is located beneath the Metamorphis Hotel in the Old Town. Hope this helps! Have fun!

you asked for fun as well as the unusual so here are a few suggestions. if he's into racing go to Le Mans. If he's a gardener, Monet's gardens, if he likes winter sports then Andorra for skiing, snowboarding etc, for water sports cave diving in the Dordogne, or to just rub shoulders with the disgustingly rich, St Tropez. If France doesn't appeal then Southern Ireland, plenty of fun things to do, English speaking and a very beautiful and very romantic country no matter where you go

Krakow, Poland.
its a fantastic city with great food and loads to do.
its still really cheap and i was blown away by how beatiful the city was, not at all 'eastern block' like i imagined.
there is an airline called centralwings which will get you there cheaply from other european cities.
