My baby was born 7 weeks ago, and I stopped having postpartum bleeding about a month ago. For the past couple of days I've been having cramps that feel like my period is starting, but I haven't had even a hint of bleeding. I am not breastfeeding (and before everybody starts beating me up about it, I was told not to by both my doctor and the pediatrician because of medicine I have to take that can pass through the breastmilk.) I've taken a pregnancy test and it came up negative, so what's going on?

Anywhere between 3 months to 9 months. Relax, and relax, many women I know cannot breastfeed their kids for a range of reasons. But we try our best to bring them up. Your kid will still grow up to be bright, big and strong - love will ensure it.
Take care enjoy the baby.

Breast feeding delays the start of M/cycles. Now cramps are not definite indicators of M/c. BUt cramsp indicate that hormonal adjustments are going on. Estrogen is increasing gradually to start your cycles again. When this hormone increases blood flow to uterus needs to be increased to build up endometrium. If adeqate flow is not available cramps.
YOu may require another month to start your cycle. Do not take any hormone treatment. Aloe vera is a natural treatment, it will increase blood flow and may help starting cycles earlier.
