my teenager spends all day(while im at work till 6pm) in her room playing new video game, and then spends the rest of the night there also.
how to get her out of her room? only 1 month left before school starts up again.
is it wrong that a teen wants to spend all day and all night in room playing video games.?
should I just leave her alone?

my daughter is 16yr and she is very responsible and nice kid, and works on weekends(part time job), she is my only kid.
i just thought she should spend a little time with friends(since being 16yr) ok I see I was wrong.
our relationship is great and we do talk when I get home, and I know what she is doing, I trust her completely.
I have asked her to go to the park with me or go for a walk, or to call her friends and she doesnt want to. she only wants to be with her friends at school only.
I was 1 out 8 kids and I liked being indoors too, and my mom shoved me outdoors all the time to play with siblings and be outdoors,
dont want to force my daughter though. just thought it was unusual for a 16yr, to be indoors all the time.

video games get me frustrated and angry, and she dont want me to bug her, she is playing this new video game, not computer, and she is trying to learn how to get through it. and yes, she wants to design her own video games when out of high school.
we dont like the same things, so thought I would try find other parents with 16yr that spend all their time in their rooms.

i love my mom for never making me leave my room while i played video games. while i also played video games i experimented vastly in media related fields which i picked up as a hobby. after the years of spending my days in my room playing games, i now can apply for jobs right outa high school in media/entertainment business (mostly working with flash and other macromedia products) for about 35$+ an hour. and hey! thats not bad!

Well you have to ask yourself what else would she be doing. Right now she is where you know her to be an well it normal to an extent she just tring to find somewhere to fit in and she is looking to the computer.

She could be one of those teens who is out all the time with her friend and you only see her at night when she goes to bed. She could be doing all sorts of drug an well be knock up by the age of 15. so i think it not that bad of a deal.

In my case, it's personal approach. When my son did the same thing, all worry were in my head, drugs? or nasty things? to approach him by the hard way will not be appropriate since he is in growing and unstable age.
Try to act more as friend than parent, play and spent the time with him, follow his hobby or talking about his friend, get into his life, slowly and try to please him.
Once he has believe in you and happy, TURN/switch yourself from friend to be Consultant, and try to see from wide and different angle.
If it's work for me, hope you too

it is not wrong for a teen to be alone, would it be better if she goes out and get her self mix up with some bad company? so far as her activity does not affect her studies it is ok.
