i have one old hard drive.. can i use it for a slave one? even my technician said that it cannot use for a primary coz it cannot accept any operating system he download..

please help! T_T

my old hard drive have severe damage coz of over heat due of its misinserted to the chassis...

I do not think you can because you already state that it has drive have severe damage.

I guess it depends how old it is and whether or not its compatable with the system and chipset that you have. It should be possible, unless its damaged internally and won't be recognized by the computer even if you have all the settings right. You should definately check with a propper electronics specialist though, I'm not even close. I hope this helps though.

you gotta find out if the data is even in it still if thats what you need... take it to a data recovery place and they'll check for you...also if all you need is a extra hard drive just get a new one

plug it in and try it man. make sure u set the jumpers on that baby to slave. then go woooooooo! say hello to super old documents haha

good hard drives... are cheap... don't waste your time putting a blown one in the mix. I don't mess with marginal memory... RAM or HARD-DRIVES.
