I'm specifically referring to working on a set for a film of T.V. show. All of the agencies on the net have a fee of around £60, which I am suspicious of. They should get their money if I get work, shouldn't they? Isn' that the idea of an agency?

If I am to send my C.V., where to. I could really do with contacts.

I don't know if the UK works differently, but in the States there are casting directors who work specifically with extras. You register with them by sending your headshot and resume and they call you in if there is work. Some have hotlines that you can call each day to see if there is work. But they NEVER charge an actor a fee. Talent Agents are allowed to charge 10%, but you don't need an agent to get extra work. (and no agent will send you up for extra jobs, because they won't make enough money)

Check at theatre schools, drama book store bulletin boards, trade newspapers, etc. to find Casting Directors, sometimes also called Casting Agencies. You can also try an internet search.

Good luck!

Try the diffrent work places and have a job experiance and then make your mind up if you want to work there. If the company gives you a job offer, take it and ask questions about paying up front! Here's my e-mail address scotishcombat@yahoo.com
