Because that is our idealisic view of what beauty should be and we hope to attain that one day. Other, more sinister motive, is that we hope that the contestants screw up and are human like the rest of us.

when I was in my younger years I love to join Beauty Pageants because of popularity and Money!!!
I got 6 crowns for a single year and i just stopped when I lost during the biggest event held in a certain city.
I was never so thankful and proud to have joined such wonderful and memorable moment !!!
So if you have the talent and the Beauty ofcourse then you Proceed and reach your dreams as I have reached mine. Now I'm still remembering those great moments with a wide smile and whisper to myself...atleast, i've tried!
