They do not. Without natural talent, steroids will not help you.

Bat speed up to a point is directly relivent to strength. The faster your bat travels the farther the ball goes if all else is equal. The stronger you are the more leg power you get into the swing as well assuming your batting stance does not negate your leg kick. The harder you will throw typically and the faster you will run are all enhanced by steroids.

There is a point where you actually decrease your abilities. McGwire and Canseco for example got too strong and actually hurt thier hitting. Folks that hurt thier back from missing a pitch or break a bat on a checked swing are good cantidates for steroid testing.

I am not sure if steroids increase your endurance but they do tend to gloss over minor injuries. So again it is a performance enhancer in that respect. Steroids are often given to the general public with soft tissue injuries.

I think steriods help you the most by letting you heal faster. A 35+ old player will take alot longer to heal from an injury then say a 21 yr old would.

Some steriods help you deal or play though nagging injuries too.

Bigger/ stronger muslces will help you throw harder and run faster and swing a bat harder but I'm not sure how they could help with reaction time.

Don't forget too -EVERYONE gets on the case of sluggers that have bulked up massively over their careers (and the league is hitting HR in record numbers) but you can't tell me that these "juiced" sluggers aren't hitting a "juiced ball"...pitchers have been using steriods as long as regular players have.

Steroids allows better training with less fatigue. It increases stamina (which in turn also allows more training).

The tangible effects for hitting a baseball are an increase in bat speed (which directly correlates with an increase in hitting distance) and that allows for more time to decide on whether to swing at a pitch or not.

Considering that baseball is also so dependent on mental strength the increase in confidence from the above effects also boost confidence. That boost in confidence helps with hitting as well.

The bigger your muscles are, the faster you'll swing the bat. The faster you swing the bat, the farther you hit the ball. Believe it or not, there are actually some drugs that help hand-eye coordination as well.

It doesn't help you actually hit it because it doesn't increase your hand eye coordination but it helps with power. So people usually accuse players of taking steroids if they are big home run hitters because they have a lot of power. That's why you hear steroids with the names of big home run hitters like Barry Bonds and Albert Pujols.

The much stronger 230lb Barry Bonds will hit a baseball further than the 190lb Barry Bonds did.

they help prevent fatique...in the 9th inning you are as strong as the 1st, that is why when you see a guy in the gym on juice he can stay in there for hours and continue to workout while the regular guy starts to wear down..if you stay long in the gym you should be fit..but not to often big without juice..but there are some pretty good suplements that can give you some of the same results now

because everyone in the major leages can hit a baseball, and if they cant, they shouldnt be there. but using performance enhancing drugs (steriods) gives them the extra boost they need to have the ball clear the right field wall.

It doesn't make you better at hitting the ball, it allows you to hit the ball harder and further.

because steroids allow you to train longer and harder - and presumably more training will help you hit that ball better
