I have a option on my web site inviting visitors to enter e-mails of their friends for referals to my web site.

If the address isnt valid, then the mail you send to it will be sent back to you.

About the only thing you can do is to check the format of the information entered to be sure it has an "@" sign somewhere in it, and a "." as in yahoo.com. There are smany free html validation codes you can download for free that will do that. Beyond that, there is no way to tell if it is a real address. Somebody could still type in xxxxxx@zzzzz.qqq and it would register as valid.

You will not know it is not a valid e-mail address unless it bounces back to your e-mail as invalid. A true friend will enter a valid e-mail address, if not, don't count them out at first...if you see them in person, ask them to try again as it seems like a lot of people have typo issues.

Its really simple , just send a blank email to that particular email address.If that email address is not valid , u wil get an email back saying that ur message could not be delivered cos this email is unvalid or something.!!!1
