Depends on how much running you'll be doing, and if you'll be changing into fresh underwear afterwards. Briefs offer more support for "the general" but hold in the moisture from sweat. Boxers are more ventilated, but are little different from going commando. (and many of us will claim the pendulum effect causes impact injury to their knees for "swing".) grin- I'd either bring a fresh change of underwear, or run in "swim" shorts. The type that have a stretchable insert to give support. The latter is what I do. During my time in the Army, all the running and marching done with regular undergarments actually chaffed so much, that on both thighs I'd actually rubbed THROUGH the skin. Doin it this way was an instant relief.

Dude, did you ever hear of a jock strap? You want something that is going to breathe while still holding your gear in place. Trash the BVDs. Get yourself a jock. And NEVER, EVER wear boxers while working out. You can really damage yourself by allowing your testicles to be constantly slapped against your thighs during workouts. What are you, 13 years old?

The best thing to get is Brooks Runderwear. They make really comfy seamless boxers and breifs made from a moisture transfer polyester microfiber. Your local running store should carry these. You can look them up at brooksrunning.com:

Tighty-Whiteys. My hubby says they stay in place when he runs and they don't move around or ride up like loose boxers do.
