I mean come on guys - we are paid to work and we are on answers all day. What would happen to you if your boss found out just how much time you spent on it?

I work in IT... The internet is used for many reasons...

And I do my work, so I don't get hassled...

As long as I get my work completed, I see no problem... ;)

Well seing as I'm an 18 year old highschool student, this may mean nothing but yes. I have already been caught on answers as I have been caught on many websites that I wasn't supposed to be on during school hours, and I have gotten in trouble almost every time, but I'm the manipulative type that manages to weasle out of things. Yay.

Where I work you could be fired for misuse of the internet. They had all games removed from computers and employees can't even use the computers for personal use during their coffee breaks as the equipment belongs to the offices.
They have all sorts of guards so that you can't access anything deemed 'rude'.

BUT somehow my colleagues manage to spend hours browsing the internet when they should be working!

In my father's office they blocked yahoo and hotmail altogether... employees there must only access their work email account from their computers.

I'm pretty lucky in that I am an alcohol and drugs worker, so I can legitmately go on Answers to reply to any questions about those topics, since education and information dissemination is part of my job discription! I can answr this question because I am off work today!

I am the boss, and yes I'm very upset at myself right now. :) I don't care what people do during lunch, it's lunch time here in Sweden. Outside of lunch I prefer they stay off these sites, but if it is only occasional and not for long periods of time, I don't mind.

Maybe a month ago, but I am starting a new job in a couple of weeks so there is not a lot they can do. Thank you Yahoo! for making my notice period a little easier to bear.

Probably moan as much as my husband does!

Hopefully you are asking a question that is relevant to work - so he can see the benefit. Or answering a question giving your company as the answer!!!
