Portugal -v- France --- well well well?

Question

(1) let's hope the best team wins.
(2) that can only be possible, at least in part, if the referee stays on the side line and REFEREES and does not become player number 23 ! --Argentina, English radio claimed, were ROBBED of a win against Germany... so let's hope the same think does not happen to Portugal or France.
(3) I believe that Portugal has THE TEAM, the FORM and above all the QUALITY to give the world an exciting performance and beat the French. This isn't wishfull thinking on my part. It is what I honestly believe.

I appreciate your thinking about the game......lets hope there will be fair play in this grand match.....and audiences get full value of money by witnessing the best class of soccer......may the better team win.
Blaming the refree is nothing but a lame excuse from defeat......the english never looked in their touch in the whole match. They should be praised for they took the match upto the shoot-out stage......at this stage, i believe english players were kicking the ball like school boys although they had ricardo, one of the best goal-keepers of the world standing in front of them...they couldn't cross him, hence they lost.The better team won.
The Argentine players really showed their class but somehow they were unable to peep through the defence of the germans. The match ran till shoot-out stage, where Germany proved they were better than Argentina.
In the semi-final, I think France would superceed the Portugal because France have improved their game very quickly to touch their best. In the beginning of the world cup, people called France as the "Team of Pensioners". It was going to be proved, but France bounced back by beating Spain. The Master(Zidane) really showed against the Brazil that he is the best footballer playing in this world cup. He took the ball in the midfield as if his feet had magnet that attracted the ball. Other players like Henry, Vierra also showed their best in what could be the last chance for them. Portuguese have really played well and have shown many times why are they here among top four teams. But still I think Figo's men,although they are young, won't be able to cross over Zidane & Co. because althogh Portuguese might have THE TEAM, THE FORM.....but French, specially Zidane, are best endowed with CLASS, that is permanent. The French have a very strong defence. And Zidane makes their mid-field very strong. He will play most crucial role in case France wins. He can over-come any defence with his spell binding tincture of greatness. The Portuguese have a strong attack......but they lack that killing instinct.
So France and Zidane are my favourites for this match. Althogh the winning difference might be 1-0 or 2-1 in favour of Zidane's army.
Well, as far as my nationality is concerned....i'm neither german, nor french, nor an english, nor an argentine.......

I am a 25 year old Cameroonian. By my own predictions and objectivity, I think France put up a wondeful show against Brasil. This was further accentuated by the Brasilian coach`s being unable to use his array of stars properly. However, the French team itself seems to be very surprised by the fact that they came so far. It is seen from their style of play when they have the lead. Unlike with the frecnh team of 98 which put up a brilliant show, they tend to be very conservative and try to play the barest minimum. Today, they are going to try to open up, and then they will face their nightmares. Christiano and Figo, are certainly going to give them a vey tough time, but most of all, Thierry will not have the luck to pass unnoticed by an innatentive defence line, as was the case with the Brazilian team. Even if he happens to do so, he will have to reckon with the talent that Ricardo has shown so far. On the contrary, Barthez will truely be put to test today, and then all shall see that age has certainly caught up with him. This is because, he is the mordern type of goalkeeper who does not only play the role of a goalkeeper but also that of a defender. This entails running forth and back a lot, certainly age is not a friend here. Portugal 2 - France 1.
