Why on earth would Ronaldo be to blame????????????? Because he is a better player??? God, Rooney was a vicious little brat for kicking the Portugal player like he did, so it is all his fault, don't start looking to blame a world class player like Ronaldo because your "golden boy" can't control his temper

If Ronaldo was asking the judge for a red card, it was mean. Rooney did not mean to step where he stepped, I'm sure of it. It seemed to me that he got the red card for stepping AND pushing Ronaldo. But he said he did it when he heard that Ronaldo was asking for a red card. And then Ronaldo winked at the bench of his team. Why did he do it? Perhaps he's telling the truth - he asked the judge for a yellow card, since there was a fall and then he was just happy that they have one player more on the field.
Somehow my heart is for Rooney, though.

c.ronaldo! he plays in MU and seems to know rooney very well. rooney is bad-tempered. c.ronaldo knew his weakeness and used it against him by interfering the whole conversation while he was trying to persuade the referee. Rooney was simply out of control of his temper, however c.ronaldo was simply despicable!

Laying it to rest, Sven Goran Eriksson is to blame. If he hadn't played his stupid 4-5-1 formation, Rooney wouldn't have got frustrated because he'd have a strike partner, wouldn't have lashed out like he did and Ronaldo wouldn't have had anything to moan to the referee about. Rooney then wouldn't have got the red card. You want a scapegoat, blame the Swede...........The world has moved on, England are out...Portugal aren't....it's old news.

It`s Wednesday!! The game was Saturday!! Man, get over it already!!!!!!!
Who cares? Rooney can`t handle his temper and Ronaldo did what any other player (including Rooney) would do!! If it were the other way around, would you still be banging on this issue? The portuguese wouldn`t, trust me!!!!

Both are to blame, they are both immature and babyish. They need to grow up and become real man to put the good of the group (team) ahead of their stupid desire to show off. Rooney deserved the red card 100%, because no matter what you don't step (and he did it with full intention) on the crouch of another player. These players will never win my sympathy.

It's all part of WC football - ref was spot on with the red. Rooney will have to learn from this like Beckham did.

for wat?
rooney is to blame for heeling someone in the nuts and pushing someone and getting sent off and losing the game for england, although a red card was way to harsh for what has been given a card in this world cup. rooney is a great player, he just made a mistake in removing himself from such a crutial game because he could have made a difference. i dunno what ronaldo did... he just had an injury, didnt he? and portugal haven't lost yet, although i don't like him much.
