john b was right about the google with 100 0's but do you know what goes in between? Im sure people could count pretty high, but most people dont know the actual names of the numbers. maybe this is because no one as ever thought of naming them. in that case, a 1 with 5000 0's following it is now called a 'Brooke'... you can name one too! I dont think anyone sat there naming all the numbers so I guess anyone call call them whatever they want. as long as they have a name, they can be counted.

Assuming 60 is an acheivable number to count to every minute and you count 16 hours a day, that would be 57,600 (not taking into account that "saying" a long number in your head while counting may take more than one second) a day. One year would be: 21,024,000. Assuming that person counted from the earliest age that one can count, lets say 4. Until the expected death of 74. That would be 1,471,680,000.

the highest number that you are talking about doesn't exist. Any number you take my increase if you add to it 1. So, imagine that the highest number you can count to is 1 000 000 000 000. Right, now add to it 1. Results that 1000 000 000 001 is higher than 1 000 000 000 000 and you also know it. There isn't a number that could be called the highest number a human can count to.

If you divide the entire distance of space around you into square cubes, then the amount of the cubes represents the largest amount. The exact amount of time it would take to count to this largest amount starting from squre one would take the amount of time that has ever existed in the past. In other words, it would take forever.

There is no upper limit, beyond the practical ones of how fast you can count and how much time you are willing to devote to doing so.

Ten.

After counting to ten, you have either cooled off enough to walk away, or you get medieval on the other person.
