Devastating! No team deserves to be ejected in such cruel and heartbreaking way. It was a great match and no matter who won or lost they should all be proud of the match today.

Well it was a hard loss, they played equal till the last minute in the 30 minute added time. That was such a hard way to go out of the running for the cup, a real kick in the stomach. I thought for sure it was going into Penalty Kicks....

It broke my heart but someone wins and someone looses.Germany played very close to the vest, I personally felt Friggs' fantastic passes were really missed in the mid-field. But all in all I felt the teams were closely matched in skill and talent and both teams have true team spirit and unity.

Besides how tragically shattered the German was after the loss it was nice to see the respect and friendship between Ballack and Cannavaro. It showed what "Fair Play" was all about.

Italy has had a hard emotional roller-coaster road during this World Cup, if anything they have shown true perseverance and determination to beat the odds and the critics. Though I am a German fan threw and threw I can't find fault in Italy, except perhaps the pathetic acting skills of being fouled by Totti that not even the referee was buying. He is a good player if only he would drop some of the bullshit.

Germany started the match in bad shape. Ballack was still injured from Argentina's dirty playing (He was axed on his lower leg twice in the Arg vs Ger game), and Neuville was also limping.
On the other hand it is a well known fact that Italy has never been beaten by Germany in a World Cup, and this I believe is due to something quite simple.......

Germany comes to play soccer and not muck around. Italy comes to win the game through the backdoor or cowardice and fake fouls. Have you ever played soccer against a team whos players continually are rolling on the ground clutching various parts of their body and thereby getting the ball given to them time and time again? I play soccer and I have played against teams like this, and you know what, it frustrates you so bad because all you came there to do was play a good classy, forthright and honest game of football!
I am suprised that the Germans had the patience to not lose their heads and get all emotional about it throughout the entire game. They kept playing solid and thorough, amidst complete poppy-**** and nonsense from the Italians.
I was not for either side, but I can say now that Italy is a sad representation of how a lot of things work in this world---the cheaters get the upperhand!

No team should be denied of winning, thus I believe that Italy won because they deserve to. Germans were good but they were lacking in the confidence level and thus, got a little out of shape. Italy saw this, gained confidence and stole the game away, which is the right thing. Life and game is all about taking chances. May the best team wins.

I didn`t see the entire game but `from what I saw I think both teams played well. However, sometimes, it`s just a question of luck and luck was on Italy` side.
I was a bit sad for Germany because I think they made a great WC and deserved to be in the final. But, that`s football. Sometimes, you win, others you lose...

Coaches and player's quotes are right to me (linked).
Both teams were worthy to win, but only one could go on.
Yesterday, before match starts, I thought Italy could have an easier way if playing with Totti + 2 forwards, the usual asset in preliminaries, but coach Lippi deserve great respect to Germany and choose a more covering 4-4-1-1 with Toni single forward.
Only at 91' Camoranesi (mid) was replaced by Iaquinta (for) and Italy plays its 4-3-1-2. Maybe Lippi spots how tired Germans were, and thought they were unable to take advantage having 1 more player in midfield. Immediately Italy got a post and a crossbar, but Podolski has a great opportunity too. In the last half, Lippi send in Del Piero (for) replacing Perrotta (mid) in an amazing Brazilian 4-2-2-2 style. Again, Italy got the best chances and finally went to score. A bit of luck is needed in such a kind of match :-)) - but - as we say - you need to looking for good luck...

Yes. Italy dominated the game for most part and played more complete football than Germany. It deserved to win.

Both teams played great football and to lose at the lost minutes of the game is heart-breaking, Italy scored 2 beautiful goals in the dying moments and broke German hearts and as they say in football the ball is round , any team can win. One of the best games so far of the world cup tournement.

It was very fair.. Though Italy won in the last minute, their performance was exemplary n consistent throughout the match.. It was obvious that they were playing far better than the Germans.. Defence was amazing.. They also missed a few shots.. So they deserved every bit of their victory..
The Germans tried their best though..

90+30 to decide who makes the final - I was overjoyed to see Grosso and Del Piero beating one of the best goalkeeps in the world with 2 exquisitely conjured goals in the dying minutes of the game. Bet Germany was looking forward to penalty kicks which makes Italy's win so much sweeter. Worthy world cup contender indeed.
