He is not sure if he wants to be a part of the child's life. And I would never ask for child support.

He is stessing about his role in his child's life and if he should be a part of his or her life - like what damage or benefit it would cause.

I am wondering about concerns he may not have brought up yet.

The only concern I'd have is that I wouldn't be able to live by the agreement I'd made with the chic friend/ couple as regards: the kid's welfare, upbringing and any access rights.

The concerns would be the legal relationship -- what is each parent's responsibility for care and maintenance of the child? This can be either that the father wants to be involved in the child's life or not involved. If the father wants to be involved, what will be his level of involvement? What financial duties is he willing to accept? The mother needs to agree to the father's wishes. Get the agreement in writing. Find out the state law; each party should be represented individually by a lawyer. Check w/your local lgbt groups regarding assistance with that, if necessary.

If the two parties can't agree on each party's rights and responsibilities before the baby is created, there's no way they should be making a baby together.

I would highly suggest not having kids with his sperm. Find a guy who is willing to sign away all right however WANTS to be a part of the kids life. Even if your friend knows he has no obligation, that doesn't mean that the child won't feel abondoned. Imagine how you would feel if you were aksing why your dad isn't around and you were told "he was just a sperm donor, he didn't want you." You could always lie to your child and tell him you don't know who the father or something however I highly disagree with lying to children. They deserve the same respect and honesty adults do. If you fee like lying to your child about something, you probably shouldn't be doing it.

I would be concerned that the child would want to know who his father is and when he asked I would want him to know the truth. I would not expect to be a part of his life unless he wanted me to be just as I would not expect to pay child support for him as he is not my child I only donated the sperm. I give up my rights and or obligations when I make the donation. The only time I have parental rights or obligation is when I plant my sperm personally.

Warning bad analogy coming

I play in the soil I get to toil for the harvest and reap the rewards.
