Have you talked to Citi?

Don't talk to some flunky that answers the phone, ask to speak to a supervisor or higher. They may have a program that will help you get caught up.

You might check with the VA and see if they have any programs for short term loans etc., that will allow you to catch up on your mortgage.

You may have credit sources you haven't thought of. For example, if you have life insurance, you might be able to borrow against your policy to catch up your house payment -- life insurance usually has a low interest rate for loans. If you have a new credit card account with an introductory low interest rate, you may want to borrow cash that way to use for your house. (But if you're late on credit card payments, that interest rate could jump to 25 percent or higher). Also talk to your local Social Services (welfare) office and church -- they may be able to help with a small loan or grant. Do you have a 401(k) plan from a previous job? That also could supply a loan. If all else fails -- if you live near a branch of the Consumer Credit Counseling Service (a non profit affiliated with United Way), they can help you figure out a debt repayment plan and work with your bank on your behalf. Be careful -- there are other "credit repair" organizations that actually are for-profit outfits charging high fees.

what intrest rate do you have at the current time. if you have a pretty high rate or adjustable rate you should look into refinacing and taking out some extra cash for a rainy day. more than likley citicorp will not help you at this time but you can give them a chance. you will have to look into subprime lenders that deal with lower credit borrowers. if you like you can email me at
