When you prepare a dinner for 1 person it has a certain cost.
When you prepare the same dinner for 10 persons, it will work out cheaper per person.
In the case of a dinner the gain is mostly in time and time=money, right?
In the case of production there is money to be saved in many areas.
So basically, the more units that are produced, the lower the per unit cost becomes.
