I rang 999 when I witnessed a car accident. Some bicycles fell off the back of a car in front of us on the M4. We were lucky enough to be able to change lanes safely but one car swerved to miss it and crashed into the barrier.

This appears to be a question for England. In the US it is 911. Yes I have used it when my husband became ill.

Do you mean 911 for emergency services? Yeah, I've buzzed them. They sent an ambulance for my sick mother and the driver flirted with me. Imagine that!
