I love that! It's so different, it's Hollywoodish without the scaryness! Ex: Apple, 'nuff said.

Really to be honest, no. I mean if you are some sort of hollywood bigshot he might be able to get away with it because everyone would love him anyways, but it would make it tough on him in school. And possibly job interviews ex: "Is that your real name? Jet?"

First impressions are everything, even the work environment is much more social now. A name like Jet doesn't give a good first impression of a persons background because it sounds like something someone may have CHANGED thier name to. And people changing their names can be kind of offputting because it can seem like they have something to hide. So no... naming your kid isnt supposed to be about you having fun thinking of fun names. Its about how they are going to be addressed and labled for the rest of their life.

that is john travolta's sons name. he named him that because john travolta is a pilot. i think it's a good name. it is very memorable. it is a strong name. one day if he becomes, for example, a lawyer it will stand out. my son has a cool name, sorry i can't tell you someone already used it in our hometown after seeing it in the paper. a simple first name deserves a large middle name. it will be cool to his friends and strong for the future.
Nicolas Cage is a big fan of "Superman" and has now named his new son Kal-el, which is the name Superman was given when he was born on Krypton.
nicolas cages real last name is copola, but changed to cage because that was the last name of his favorite comic book character.
so what i'm trying to say is name your son whatever you want and don't listen to the rest of your answers unless they are positive.
i went to school with a boy named brandi and he was the star basket ball player. it's not the name that makes the person it's the person that makes the name.

im torn. at first i was like no way...but then it grew on me a little...its not like the worst name ever... but i dont think i could go thru with naming my son jet. you might want to consider how it sounds with your last name. and also consider just using it for a nickname like someone else said.

Alternatively you can make Jet his middle name, and if he is fond of it later in life he can just go by his middle name.

Personally I do not like the name, but it is a matter of personal choice...

If it reminds you of how fast you zipped down your fly and what you said when you were done. ( uh, I gotta jet now ,Later) then I'd have to say no, Actually forget I said that. I think its kinda cute no matter what it reminds you of. I could imagine some hot babe as an adult with that name too.

I consider Jet to be as cool as Seven.

Jet is just not a good name. It either means a plane or its short for Jethro, and I'm not sure which is worse...

I think it is a bad idea for a name. It may sound "cool" but I bet he would get teased mercilessly. They'd say that his mom couldn't give him a "real" name like Tom, Michael, etc. Just give your son a nice, "normal" name to save him being ridiculed.

Depends on your viewpoint:

On the one hand, no, it's not, because it's unusual, kinda like naming your child apple.

On the other hand, odd names are becoming popular.

A celebrity actually named their child Moxie Crimefighter.

Either way, consult with a significant other, friend, parent, before you do.

Just promise not to name your child Apple.

Just....Gah....

John Travolta thinks so. That's the name of his son! But he spells it Jett.
