Why Cricket,Hockey and Football is always played by eleven players on eachside?

Cause if they played with 12, the referee would give that team a flag and penalty.

'cause they can have a total of 16 players out of which 5 have to be extra so if they play more than 11 players they wont have enough extras

BECAUSE ONE TEAM CANT BE 11 AND THE OTHER 12 MEMBERS
