This guy started talking to me in March cuz he "liked me". But I didnt' even know the kid's name. Anyway, I got to know him and we're cool, but he would find a way to bring up the subject of if I wanted a boyfriend, what I wanted in one, etc. He even asked one of my close friends what it would take to get me to go out with a dude. I only see him as a friend, but I'm not going to stop talking to him or anything just because of this whole thing, because he's become a good friend. Hope I'm not being conceited in thinking he likes me, but it seems obvious? Should I be straight with him and tell him what I know, or should I just wait till he confronts me or stops talking to me eventually? Any other advice?

I think it's a good possibility this guy is hoping for a relationship. I would say, why not go out on a date? Is there any reason not to?
After the first date, you should have a better idea of where he's coming from and you'll get a chance to know him in that environment. If it doesn't feel right, decline a second date and state at this time you just want to keep it as friends. Who knows with time, but no promises. If you do get in another relationship, be sure he knows. Don't let him hang if there's no hope. If he takes off after declining the second date, then that answers that as far as just being a friend.

Your not being conceited at all you just don't want to hurt his feeling but you don't have to hurt his feeling at all,but it does seem like he likes you because why would he ask your friends those questions but i say that you should pull him to the side and be straight with him in a nice way and let him know that you would rather be friends and that you hope you guys can continue to be friends etc. but whatever you do,don't wait till he asks to go out with you because that could be a while because right now he seem to be a little scared to confront you or he is just waiting for the right time so i say that you talk to him one on one in a public place such as Starbucks just in case he has a temper tantrum but just let him know that you just want to be friend so he wont be lead on to think that he has a chance and if he doesn't want to be your friend then you will have to cut him from your friends list.

sweetie, if he's a "good" friend, then why don't you just tell him you're not interested in him that way?
Or do you think you might, just not now?
