well, i moved to california to be with my boyfriend...we had lived together in oregon but now we were moving to california together. away from family. a few months into it i was in a car wreck that totalled my car. he talked me into using the insurance money to pay his bills then, without a downpayment for a car, i was forced to quit my job for lack of transportation, and i spent the next year locked in the house. no phone, no internet, no tv, the only contact to the outside world was his cell phone, which he graciously allowed me to use under his strict supervision. he would listen in on the entire conversation, and if he didnt like it, he'd lecture me for hours.
finally after the year he brought me back to oregon for a visit. i told him that since i didnt have a job to go back to, i wanted to stay and visit a few weeks longer. once he was back in california, and fighting to have the courage to do it, (i was defenitly lacking a backbone back then) i told him i wasn't going back.
perhaps the single most difficult decision i ever made, but defenitly the best. now i'm on the way to rebuilding my life, and i'm with a guy that i can honestly say i love more than life, we're planning on getting married and having a houseful of kids.
thats my turning point.

When my son was born. It basically validated who I am and what I am doing here. I became a single dad when he was 4 because my wife got sick. That event further validated who I was and why I was here, and I truly believe that being a Father is who I am, and is my most important job I have ever, and will ever do.
